In observance of Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, the Prince George’s County Family Justice Center in partnership with the Fort Washington (MD) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. has established the Empowered to Empower Scholarship Program. The scholarship program is designed to educate and support high school students about healthy relationships.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must be: A high-school senior residing and attending school in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Applicant must be planning to attend a trade, technical school, or college in pursuit of a 2-year certification /degree or 4-year degree.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
- Recipients may use scholarship funds to pay all normal college/educational expenses including tuition, book purchases, and rentals. Refundable fees will not be paid.
- Maximum value of scholarship is $500, payable in a lump sum payment.
- Scholarship recipients must enroll in a trade, technical school, or college during the 2021-2022 academic year.
The application deadline is Friday, March 12, 2021. The scholarship winner will be announced in April 2021.
