The Teen Empowerment Program (T.E.P.) is an
innovative collaboration between the Prince
George's County Family Justice Center, an
initiative of the Circuit Court, and An Earthly
Embrace. The program is designed to educate
and support youth and young adults from
middle school - college about healthy
relationships.
What does the Teen Empowerment
Program (T.E.P.) do?
The Teen Empowerment Program offers
engaging classroom presentations and
interactive workshops to educate teens about
healthy relationships.
The Teen Empowerment Program also works
with parents, guardians, educators and
community leaders for specialized sessions
highlighting the red flags and warning signs of
teen dating violence in an effort to end the
cycle of abuse.

What is Teen Dating Violence?
Teen Dating violence is a form of intimate
partner violence, initiated by one person in a
close relationship toward their partner in an
attempt to use physical, emotional, sexual,
verbal, financial, or digital abuse as a means to
gain power and control.

TEEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM
All program services are designed to bring
awareness of healthy relationships and
teen dating violence in formats that are
interactive and informative. Workshops and
group discussions can be customized to
meet the specific needs of a group.
Teens Talk Truth Table Discussions
Designed to engage teens in an open dialogue about teen dating violence, the table discussions encourage teens to have healthy conversations about teen dating violence to help break the cycle of abuse.
Age-Appropriate Presentations
Engaging presentations designed to
educate and bring awareness to teen
dating violence in a classroom setting.
Be Empowered Workshops
Interactive workshops focusing on healthy
and unhealthy relationships, self-esteem,
and the warning signs of teen dating
violence.
Group Mentoring Sessions
Research and curriculum-based sessions
designed to empower teens. The topics include
self-awareness, life skills, healthy relationships
and self-expression through art, music and
poetry.
